Ralph Breaks The Internet starts of six years after the first film is made, and shows us Vanellope and Ralph are still as close since the ending of the first movie. The best buddy duo has a daily routine of going to their games for work in the day to then talking over some of Tapper's Root Beer. While Ralph expresses that he is totally okay with a mundane-homebody life they live, Vanellope is going through a state that is reminiscent to that of a mid-life crisis. She wants adventure, she is tired of predictability, and in comes our antagonist/protagonist: the wifi router. After Ralph's recklessness causes her game to be put out of order, Vanellope goes ahead and drags Ralph into the router to find a replacement piece for the game. With this, Vanellope is finally finding the adventure she has been seeking in the infinite world of the internet. The way that Disney begins to displays the internet shows us just how much we are relying on it, in a positive light. With funny quirks about the ridiculousness of the internet from Ralph, we see in Vanellope the insight of being inspired by the internet. While trying to help get money for the part, Vanellope stumbles upon a few familiar faces: The Disney Princesses. While off to a rocky start (Cinderella should have been named Shank for that move she pulled honestly), the princesses help encourage her to reflect on what she really wants, and that is to find a new world on the internet. After that, Sarah Silverman goes ahead and bursts into song, which I strangely never knew I needed in my life, and we now know Vanellope wants to stay on the internet forever. The movie is showing the audience the beauty of the infinite internet. It also shows us how Disney is evolving as well, with knowledge of the internet and how it is now affecting their movies too. I expect to see a lot more tech in upcoming animated movies, and maybe even a princess who has electrical powers? Sounds a bit familiar, but they can work with that.

Aside from the movie heavily being about the internet, and how it works in our daily lives, it is also definitely a coming of age story. When the first film came out, my stepfather took me to see it. Like Ralph taking in Vanellope, that was how I and my stepdad were. This sequel shows the growing up part of a father-daughter duo. Ralph has a hard time letting go of Vanellope, which almost leads to both of their demises, but Ralph realizes how letting go is the only thing to keep both of them happy. For me, moving out, going to college, living my own life, I'm in the same position as Vanellope trying to ditch Sugar Rush for Slaughter Race. The film touches on this theme only towards the end, but definitely captures the embodiment of how growing up is hard for dads and daughters alike.

Overall it was a cute movie, with enough quips for couples without children to go ahead and enjoy. With all praise being said, it is a children's movie, and there is only so much to expect. If you're someone who enjoys fantasy lands and pure innocence and imagination then Ralph Breaks The Internet may just be the movie for you to check out this weekend. With its amazing colors, catchy score (that sounds reminiscent of the Stranger Things theme), and childish storyline, you should be sure to love it. If that isn't your type of movie, Beautiful Boy is still in theatres almost everywhere and deserves to be watched in a serious tone. For me, Ralph and his sugar-crazed best friend Vanellope's movie scores a 7/10. The movie has a good moral, the graphics were as advanced as could be, and the ad placement was so strategic I just have to hand it to them. Also, another little thing that got me to like the design and characters settings was when Ralph goes down to the bottom of the internet and you are able to see a Y2K Survivors building. The little things in this movie really helped the ambiance and added to making yet another successful Disney movie.
